5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTSDAY 1: FES - IFRANE - AZROU - CEDAR FOREST MACAQUES - MIDELT - ERFOUD - MERZOUGA DESERT
We begin our 5-day adventure leaving Fes and heading south towards the expansive Sahara. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, making stops at Ifrane and the cedar forests near Azrou to see the wild macaques. As we descend towards the desert, the landscape transforms rapidly. We pass through Midelt and the Ziz Valley, arriving in Erfoud and finally Merzouga where we enjoy our first night at a hotel near the dunes.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR - VISIT NOMAD VILLAGES - CAMEL RIDE TO DESERT CAMP
A full day to explore the surrounding desert. We drive through the sandy tracks to visit a nomadic family living in traditional Berber tents, share a cup of tea, and learn about their way of life. We'll also visit the Khamlia village to experience live Gnaoua music. In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek over the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset and spend the night in a luxury or standard desert camp.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT - ERFOUD - TODGHA GORGES - DADES GORGES
Wake up early for a spectacular desert sunrise before trekking back to Merzouga on your camels. After breakfast and a shower, we depart for Rissani to witness its vibrant local souk. Continuing onward, we pass through Jorf and Touroug to reach the towering Todra Gorges. After a short hike, we resume our journey to the Dades Valley, where we spend the night enjoying immense rock formations.
DAY 4: DADES VALLEY - KELAA M'GOUNA - OUARZAZATE - KASBAH OF AIT BENHADDOU
Leave the Dades Valley and travel along the renowned Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We stop in Kelaa M'Gouna, the capital of the blooming Valley of Roses, and pass through the lush Skoura oasis. Continuing on, we reach Ouarzazate, visit the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas studio, before settling into a hotel near the legendary Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.
DAY 5: AIT BENHADDOU TO MARRAKECH
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou in the morning before the crowds arrive. This remarkable village is a shining example of ancient Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Mid-morning, start the spectacular drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stopping at panoramic viewpoints, before finally arriving in Marrakech.
