Jour par jour
You’ll depart Marrakech and travel through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages and dramatic mountain passes. The journey continues through the Draa Valley, known for its palm groves and kasbahs, until you reach the 4×4 ready to drive you to the Faija Region. Here you’ll meet the camels and their cameleers, and set up the first wild camp under the desert sky.rnrnThe total drive will be long (8 hours), but scenic.

Your Sahara desert tour really begins today. In the morning you’ll load the camels and head to Achguig Oasis.rnrnYou’ll have good views of the Saghro Mountains, with their lunar landscape and little vegetation. You’ll climb to the Abbes pass, from where you can observe the vastness of the stony desert. After lunch, you’ll walk along dried riverbeds, arriving at the campsite at sunset

You’ll trek toward the majestic Chegaga Dunes, some of the highest in Morocco. The vast expanse of golden sand offers breathtaking views and a true sense of desert isolation. Camp at the base of the dunes and watch the sunset paint the horizon in shades of gold and crimson.

Erg Chegaga (“erg” meaning “sea of dunes”) is the largest erg in Morocco.rnrnToday sees the journey continue deeper into the desert, with trekking across the golden dunes of Chegaga and rocky plains, and lunch at the famous Sedrat dune. Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive and set up camp near a wadi and enjoy a peaceful evening around the campfire.

After walking the many small dunes of Chegaga, you’ll continue towards the town of M’hamid. You’ll eat under the trees of Tamares, then in the evening arrive at the dunes of Bouguern, a site rarely frequented by tourists, where the final desert camp awaits. Reflect on the journey and share stories under a canopy of stars.

After breakfast, you’ll take a 1.5-hour 4×4 ride out of the desert to meet the bus driver. The return journey to Marrakech is long, but picturesque, taking you through the Draa Valley and Atlas Mountains. You’ll check into the accommodation and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
