Detailed Itinerary

5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL - TIZI M'ZIK PASS - TAMS... (AZZADEN VALLEY)

From Marrakech, drive to Imlil. Start walking up to the Tizi M'Zik pass (2489m), overlooking the stunning Azzaden Valley. Trek down through junipers to spend the night in traditional Berber terraced villages.

DAY 2: AZZADEN VALLEY - TIZI OUSSEM - TACHEDDIRT (2400M)

Hike up through the valley, passing spectacular waterfalls and crossing high passes towards the Imnane valley. Arrive at Tacheddirt, one of the highest villages in the Atlas Mountains, for an overnight stay in a local gîte.

DAY 3: TACHEDDIRT - IMLIL RIVERSIDE - AROUMD VILLAGE

Descend via the beautiful Imnane Valley, crossing river streams and winding through walnut groves. Rejoin the main valley near Imlil and trek slightly up to the large, scenic village of Aroumd for the night.

DAY 4: AROUMD VILLAGE - ARMED (1900m) - TOUBKAL REFUGE (3207m)

Leave civilization behind as we hike along the floodplains to the Marabout shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. The path becomes steeper as we trek up into the high alpine zone, arriving at the Toubkal Refuge to rest before summit day.

DAY 5: TOUBKAL REFUGE - SUMMIT TOUBKAL (4167m) - IMLIL - MARRAKECH

Rise before dawn for the challenging push to the summit. Witness a majestic sunrise from the roof of North Africa. Descend back to the refuge for lunch, and continue the long walk down to Imlil. Transfer back to your hotel in Marrakech, arriving in the early evening.

Recommended Trekking & Hiking Equipment

For our trekking adventures, there is no need to buy a ton of equipment... Most of the equipment can be rented in Imlil locally before the trek begins. A sleeping bag is required for some treks (can be rented too).
